Dr. Ailyn Penate

Dr. Penate is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Florida (PY10090). She completed her doctorate with a specialization in neuropsychology at Carlos Albizu University in Miami, FL, in 2015. Her internship training was at South Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (SFETC), a maximum-security forensic hospital in Florida City, FL, in 2015, and she’s been a Certified Florida Forensic Examiner since 2014.

Following the internship, she completed two years of post-doctoral fellowship training in neuropsychology. One year was completed at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) in Miami Beach, FL as the ADRC Scholar. The other year of training was finished at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine; Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Center on Aging, currently known as the Center of Cognitive Neuroscience and Aging (CNSA) in Miami, FL, where she has been appointed distinguished faculty member since April 2019.

Before her doctorate, she obtained a master’s in science degree in general psychology from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, FL in 2007, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Florida International University, also in Miami, FL in 2005.

Her research interests are in the study of the earliest preclinical manifestations of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The following are some of the study publications in which she has collaborated:
